About the Duke 2

The Marten Design Duke 2 is a 2-way standmount loudspeaker system comprising a newly developed 7-inch ceramic bass/mid-range driver and a 1-inch ceramic tweeter utilizing the latest Accuton technology for diamond-like performance. It features a rear-ported 23mm MDF cabinet with non-parallel walls and a trapezoidal shape to minimize internal reflections. The crossover is a second-order design at 3kHz, using high-quality Mundorf components including low loss copper-foil coils and silver/gold/oil capacitors. Internal wiring is by Jorma Design, known for its high-quality copper cables. The speaker has a frequency response of 38Hz to 40kHz ±3dB, sensitivity of 88 dB/w/m, impedance of 4 ohms (minimum 3.7 ohms), and a power rating of 150 watts. Dimensions are 22 x 40 x 33 cm (WxHxD) and weight is 13 kg. Available finishes include Piano Black, Piano Walnut, and Matte Walnut. The Duke 2 is praised for superb bass for its size, clean transient response, excellent soundstaging, and is ideal for audiophiles with moderate-sized listening rooms. It carries a three-year warranty and uses high-quality WBT binding posts.
