About the XM44 Electronic Crossover
The Marchand Electronics XM44 is a high-quality, modular active electronic crossover network designed for professional audio applications. It is available in 1-, 2-, 3-, or 4-way configurations, providing individual outputs for each frequency band. The crossover frequencies are set by interchangeable frequency modules, allowing easy customization. It features steep 24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley filters as standard, with optional slopes up to 48 dB/octave and various filter orders available. The front panel includes 12-position stepped attenuators (1 dB steps) for precise and repeatable output level control, with an option for 24-position attenuators calibrated in 0.5 dB steps. The unit supports balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs and outputs, with balanced I/O available as an option. Additional features include a subwoofer summing switch, baffle step compensation, notch/boost filters, delay sections, and bass boost filters (Linkwitz transform). The XM44 is housed in a robust all-metal black cabinet with white legends, measuring 17" x 3.5" x 11" and weighing approximately 15 pounds. It operates on worldwide AC power (115/230 VAC) with a 1A fuse. The crossover uses high-quality components such as TI/Burr-Brown OPA2134 op-amps for low distortion and high signal-to-noise ratio. It is suitable for audiophiles and professional users seeking precise crossover control and high fidelity sound reproduction.
