The Marantz Model 140 is a classic stereo power amplifier produced around 1975-1977 in Japan. It delivers 75 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms with a total harmonic distortion of 0.1-0.2% and a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz. The amplifier features left and right channel VU meters and peak indicators, rotary gain controls, and RCA phono input sockets. It has a damping factor of about 30 and a signal-to-noise ratio of approximately 98dB. The unit weighs about 11 kg and measures approximately 359 x 121 x 273 mm. Optional walnut wood cabinet and rack mount adapters were available. It is housed in a metal cabinet and is noted for its clean, strong, and surprisingly musical sound, rivaling other classic amps of its era. Power consumption is around 250W.
