About the AV7005
The Marantz AV-7005 is a full-featured 7.1 channel surround sound preamplifier/processor designed for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts. It supports the latest audio formats including Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and legacy Dolby and DTS formats. It features Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction, Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, and DSX sound expansion technologies for optimized sound performance. The AV-7005 includes six assignable HDMI 1.4a inputs (five rear, one front) and two HDMI outputs (one with Audio Return Channel), supporting 1080p/24 pass-through, 3D video compatibility, Deep Color, x.v.Color, and auto lip-sync. Video processing is handled by Anchor Bay's 10-bit ABT2015 scaler for high-quality upscaling and deinterlacing. The unit offers balanced 7.2 channel preamp outputs, phono input, multiple digital and analog inputs, and network connectivity for streaming Internet radio and music services like Pandora and Napster. It also supports multi-zone audio and has extensive control options including RS-232 and IP control. The AV-7005 is known for its clean design, high build quality, and excellent audio performance with a signal-to-noise ratio of 105 dB and very low distortion. It was released around 2010 and is no longer in production but remains a respected processor in the audiophile community.
