The Mapleshade Samson V.5 is the narrower of the two doublewide stock size Samson racks, designed to hold two standard-sized components side-by-side. It features five shelves made from 2" or 4" thick air-dried maple cut from old-growth logs and air-dried for 3 to 6 years, providing exceptional stiffness and resonance control. The shelves measure 45 inches wide by 18 inches deep, with 40 inches width between the front pair of solid 1¼" diameter steel uprights. These uprights are solid steel, not hollow, making them 16 times stiffer than typical racks and ensuring a rigid, resonance-free vibration path from the equipment through the shelves and uprights to the floor. The shelves are locked rigidly to the uprights using massive threaded brass nuts at each corner, eliminating side sway and ensuring a clean vibration path. The rack is anchored to the floor via threaded brass footers called Heavyfeet or Megafeet, which provide a massive, pointed contact to the floor for optimal vibration drainage. The overall structure is extremely stiff and rigid, designed to prevent any sway or resonance that could degrade sound quality.
