The Mapleshade Golden Helix Speaker Cables use ultra high-purity, single strand copper conductors that are drawn, silver-plated, and heat-treated to Mapleshade's specifications. They feature an ultra-thin dielectric insulation under two ten-thousandths of an inch thick, made from polymers selected by ear for low dielectric loss. The cables are tightly twisted in a single helix configuration to reduce signal interaction and skin effect losses, resulting in a sound with dynamic punch, clean bass without boominess, transparent midrange, and brilliant, unsmeared treble. Independent listening tests have shown these cables outperform many well-known brands costing two to five times as much. The cables are designed to avoid the common flaws of thick, multi-stranded wires with thick plastic insulation, which can muddy bass and roll off treble. Installation tips include avoiding laying cables on artificial fiber rugs or plastic surfaces to prevent dielectric loss interference. The cables are available in an 8-foot pair and have a PLUS upgrade option with specially treated copper for reduced treble grain and lower noise floor, enhancing detail and reducing listening fatigue.
