About the Stingray II
The Manley Stingray II is a vacuum tube stereo integrated amplifier that builds upon the acclaimed original Stingray model with enhanced features and improved power storage for better bass control and impact. It uses 8 EL84 output tubes, 2 6414 driver tubes, and 2 12AT7 input tubes. The amplifier offers switchable output modes between approximately 18 watts per channel in triode mode and 32 watts per channel in ultralinear mode at 1.5% THD into 5 ohms. It includes three stereo line RCA inputs, one stereo 1/8" TRS mini-jack input, recording out, subwoofer out, and a tape loop with bypass switch. A built-in headphone output mutes the speakers and subwoofer when in use. The amplifier features logic-controlled volume and balance, sealed gold contact relays for input selection, and a rugged power supply designed for 100V, 120V, or 220-240VAC operation. The front panel has dimmable blue LED displays with a customizable "Starlight" mode. User settings are saved in memory when the unit is put into standby. Dimensions are 19" wide, 14" deep, and 7.5" high, weighing approximately 35 lbs. The Stingray II is praised for its musical engagement, warmth, and tonal richness, making it suitable for a wide range of speakers and headphone listening.
