About the Shrimp
The Manley Shrimp is an all-tube stereo preamplifier designed with a very short and simple minimalist signal path. It uses two 12AT7 input tubes and two 7044 output tubes, employing a unique White Follower output stage that provides a low 50 ohm output impedance, allowing it to drive almost any source with ease. The design avoids global feedback for a fast, dynamic sound and includes high-quality audiophile components such as Noble volume and balance pots and MIT/MultiCap polypropylene capacitors, including large 30 uF capacitors on the output stages. It features five single-ended line-level RCA inputs, two sets of main outputs, a large volume control knob, balance control, mute button, and an on/off switch. The chassis is robust with a ventilated screen cover, and tubes are mounted sideways for a sleek look. The Shrimp also includes a warm-up delay and mute function. Dimensions are 19" wide, 11" deep, and 3.5" high, weighing about 15 pounds. It is known for its detailed, dynamic, and transparent sound performance, making it a favored choice for audiophiles seeking a pure tube preamplifier experience.
