About the Mahi

The Manley Mahi monoblocks are compact, all-tube power amplifiers with switchable Ultra-Linear and Triode operating modes, delivering up to 40W in Ultra-Linear and around 20W in Triode depending on feedback and load. Each monoblock uses four EL84 output tubes, a 12AT7EH input tube, and a dual-triode driver tube (12BH7 or 6414, depending on production/version). Key features include Triode/Ultra-Linear mode switching, three-position variable negative feedback (3dB, 6dB, 10dB) for tonal and damping control, and Manley IRON output transformers optimized for 5-ohm speaker loads yet compatible with typical 4-8 ohm speakers. The design emphasizes strong bass performance via increased B+ rail energy storage and high-quality parts, including German WBT binding posts. Each chassis is compact and heavy for its size, with dimensions approximately 127mm x 254mm x 279mm (H x W x D) and weight about 8.2kg per monoblock, and the amplifiers are sold and used as a pair of monoblocks aimed at serious audiophile and professional listening systems.
