It uses a combination of N-Channel JFETs cascoded with 6922 (6DJ8-family) triodes in the input stage for low noise and high headroom, followed by a passive RIAA equalization network and a White cathode follower output stage for high current drive and low output impedance. The Chinook supports both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges with two internal gain settings: 45dB for MM and 60dB for MC cartridges. It features extensive loading options with 31 resistive settings between 26 and 800 Ohms plus 47k Ohms, and 7 capacitive loading choices from 50pF to 350pF, allowing fine-tuning to match any cartridge.
