The Magnum Dynalab ST-2 is a vertical omnidirectional FM antenna that offers superior reception compared to single element dipole antennas. It is designed to improve FM signal strength and reduce multipath interference through its unique vertical polarization and focus on the horizontal plane. Constructed with a PH17-7 stainless steel whip and a precision-wound loading coil encased in stainless steel, the antenna is weather-sealed and built for durability in various geographical locations. It provides 2.5 dB of signal gain and does not require a ground plane or counterpoise, allowing versatile mounting options such as on a mast, balcony, window, or even from a tree. The antenna measures approximately 1.37 meters (54 inches) in length and includes a stainless steel 'L' mounting bracket and 24 feet of cable. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, with outdoor mounting recommended for rural or challenging reception areas. The ST-2 is compatible with Magnum Dynalab tuners like the FT-101A and is praised for enhancing FM tuner performance by delivering stronger, clearer signals with less flutter and fading.
