About the MD90T
The Magnum Dynalab MD90T FM Tuner redefines analog FM tuner design with unmatched sensitivity, selectivity, and audio realism. Developed by Zdenko Zivkovic, it features the company's first triode tube audio board, incorporating a Philips military grade JJ 6922 tube in the amplification stage to deliver a warm, rich sound and a larger soundstage characteristic of tube technology. It is a successor to the FT101A, combining advanced discrete analog technology with a 3-stage RF front end and a custom Auto Blend RF Circuit to optimize stereo quieting and signal clarity in congested urban environments. The MD90T includes a redesigned motherboard and power supply for improved performance and standby operation. Additional features include a custom Plitron toroidal transformer, a 0.093 inch thick gold-plated circuit board, Solen polypropylene capacitors, and options such as precision remote control, balanced output with JJ Precision Tube, silver faceplate, and audio upgrades. The tuner offers precise analog tuning with a large front-panel control knob and digital frequency display, dual keyed automatic gain control, bandwidth control to reduce interference, and multiple meters for monitoring signal conditions. It is highly regarded for its sonic attributes, including zero feedback design, careful ground plane management, and a ripple-free power supply that preserves musical harmonics.
