About the DP8

The Mørch DP8 tonearm employs an anisotropic design that provides light vertical movement for excellent warp tracking and heavy horizontal inertia for powerful, precise bass reproduction. It features a radial arm with interchangeable arm tubes and a dual bearing system: a silicone-damped precision ball-bearing assembly for horizontal motion and two pivoted sapphire bearings for vertical motion, which can be damped and adjusted. The arm includes a unique flywheel-shaped central body with side weights that stabilize horizontal movement, enhancing bass dynamics and clarity. It has adjustable azimuth, bias compensation with a watch spring, and an adjustable cueing mechanism damped with silicone fluid. The DP8 also integrates a device for adjusting vertical tracking angle (VTA) while playing. Internal wiring consists of 19 strands of ultra-pure silver insulated with Teflon, and the tonearm cord is balanced with heavily silver-coated copper strands. The arm is finished in 24 carat gold or chrome. The DP8 is praised for its extraordinary bass power, neutrality, and large soundstage, outperforming many other high-end tonearms in bass extension and precision, while maintaining clarity and harmonic depth across the frequency range.
