About the Goliath
The M&K Goliath subwoofer was introduced in 1976 as part of the world's first satellite/subwoofer system, designed to deliver deep, accurate bass with minimal distortion. It features a large 15-inch driver (woofer) in a robust wooden cabinet, engineered for professional studio and high-end home audio use. The Goliath was designed to complement smaller satellite speakers (such as the David) by providing powerful low-frequency extension and high output levels. M&K Sound's approach combined scientific research and live music recording expertise to create a subwoofer with exceptional clarity and low distortion, making it a reference standard in both music and film sound production. The Goliath's design influenced the development of powered subwoofers and remains a sought-after classic for audiophiles and professionals. Replacement parts such as foam surrounds for the Goliath woofer are still available, indicating its lasting legacy and continued use among enthusiasts.
