About the W210
The Lyngdorf W210 BassDirect speaker is a passive subwoofer designed to be placed in the corners of a listening room, utilizing two 10-inch Vifa/ScanSpeak woofers with very low moving mass for high sensitivity and quick reaction time. Unlike conventional subwoofers that only reproduce deep bass below 120 Hz, the W210 can be crossed over to main speakers at frequencies around 400 Hz or higher, freeing up the dynamics and power handling of the main speakers. The cabinet is made of 22mm thick MDF, shaped to fit room corners, and divided into two chambers for rigidity and vibration reduction. The drivers feature copper-plated pole pieces to reduce distortion and inductance, resulting in improved impulse response and clarity. The W210 is designed to be operated with digital amplifier DSP crossover and equalization controls, delivering clean, dynamic bass with very low power input, rarely exceeding 5 watts even at loud volumes. It has a frequency response from 16 Hz to 3.5 kHz, sensitivity of 96 dB, and nominal impedance of 8 ohms. The speaker weighs 34 kg and measures 420 x 560 x 550 mm. It was introduced in 2006 and is now discontinued.
