About the DPA-1
The Lyngdorf DPA-1 is a digital preamplifier and D/A processor designed to deliver exceptional audio performance with advanced room correction technology called RoomPerfect. It supports both analog and digital inputs, including balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analog inputs, and digital inputs such as coaxial S/PDIF, AES/EBU, and Toslink optical. The DPA-1 features a state-of-the-art A/D conversion module with 3 unbalanced and 1 balanced analog inputs, converting signals immediately to balanced form for noise immunity. It incorporates advanced low-noise design techniques and impedance compensation to preserve signal integrity. The unit includes a calibrated microphone and mic stand for room calibration, and firmware can be updated online. It offers a fully balanced design with DC coupling in the signal path, high-quality Burr-Brown op-amps, and polypropylene capacitors in the output filter. The DPA-1 is praised for its ability to seamlessly integrate subwoofers, improve depth and imaging, and correct room acoustics without invasive treatments. It weighs 7.4 kg and measures 450 x 355 x 100 mm (WxDxH). It consumes 4 watts in standby and 35 watts in operation. The product is discontinued but remains highly regarded for its sound quality and room correction capabilities.
