The Luxman DA-250 is a versatile 2-channel digital-to-analog converter that also functions as a Class A headphone amplifier and preamplifier with analog input for A/D conversion capabilities. It employs the Texas Instruments PCM1795 DAC chip and Luxman's proprietary LECUA (Luxman Electric Controlled Ultimate Attenuator) for precise analog volume control on both line and headphone outputs, ensuring low distortion, high S/N ratio, and consistent sound quality across levels. Designed as an upgrade over the DA-200, it supports asynchronous USB for low jitter, includes a high-accuracy DAIR clock for S/PDIF inputs, and offers fixed/variable output switching. The build features a robust all-metal chassis with meticulous internal construction. Retail price was $2790; it appears no longer manufactured by Luxman.
