The Luxman D-08u is a flagship Super Audio CD player designed for high-resolution digital playback. It features Luxman's original LxDTM disc transport mechanism with an 8mm-thick aluminum transport block and stabilized support structure for superior rigidity and vibration isolation. The player supports 2-channel SACD and CD formats with a dust-proof shutter mechanism. The digital section employs dual Burr-Brown PCM1792A D/A converters in monaural configuration and includes a TI TAS3152 DSP for upsampling. The analog output stage uses Luxman's fully balanced discrete ODNF version 4.0 circuit. USB inputs support PCM up to 384kHz/32-bit and DSD up to 5.64MHz, while coaxial and optical inputs accept up to 192kHz. The player includes three selectable digital filters for PCM signals and two analog FIR filter options for DSD. Additional features include a fluorescent display with zoom and dimmer functions, disc layer switchover for hybrid SACDs, multiple playback modes, and built-in flash memory for settings retention. The chassis employs thick aluminum construction with graded cast-iron feet for vibration damping.
