About the C02

The Luxman C-02 is a separate pre-amplifier produced between 1983 and 1987, renowned for its Duo-Beta Circuit/S implementation in a single-stage amplification system using LEDs for bias, ensuring superb audio performance with class A operation and no crossover distortion. It includes a built-in step-up transformer and high-gain amplifier for MC cartridges, phono straight switch for direct disc playback, dual tape monitoring and dubbing circuits, tone bypass switch, subsonic filter, low boost, and gold-plated terminals. The unit delivers powerful bass and midrange via a circular transformer and special audio capacitors. Dimensions approximately 453 x 81 x 315-320 mm, weight 5.5-7 kg. It pairs well with the Luxman M-02 power amplifier. No longer manufactured, available on used market around $3200 for serviced pairs or similar.
