About the KST-150

The Luminance Audio KST-150 is a high-speed, solid-state stereo power amplifier designed around a balanced, cascoded three-stage circuit and complementary MOSFET output section. Its design priorities are very wide bandwidth, high slew rate, low-frequency square-wave fidelity, and stable operation into difficult reactive loudspeaker loads. The amplifier is DC-coupled at its input, uses a 700 VA EI-core power transformer, fast-recovery rectification, a large capacitor bank, channel front-end regulation, RF filtering/snubbing, and a passive output RF filter. Luminance specifies the KST-150 as unconditionally stable with nominal loads of 3 ohms or higher. It is a power amplifier only: a separate preamplifier/volume control source is required.
