About the D1
The LUMIN D1 is an audiophile network music player and DAC designed for high-resolution streaming and digital-to-analog conversion over a wired Ethernet connection. It supports PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD64 (2.8MHz, 1-bit), and plays a wide range of formats including FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, and AAC. Its fully balanced analog stage uses dual Wolfson WM8741 DAC chips (one per channel) and provides both XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs, plus a BNC S/PDIF digital output carrying PCM up to 192kHz and DSD64 via DoP. Control is via the LUMIN app using UPnP/OpenHome, and the player can stream from a NAS or attached USB storage devices. The D1 features a compact raw-brushed aluminum chassis with an external auto-ranging 100-240V switch-mode power supply, and is regarded for delivering much of LUMIN's higher-end sound quality in a smaller, more affordable form factor. The model has been discontinued and superseded by later D-series players such as the D2 and D3.
