About the D1
The LUMIN D1 is an audiophile-grade network music player designed for high-resolution streaming and digital-to-analog conversion. It supports PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD64 (2.8MHz, 1-bit), offering playback of a wide range of audio formats including FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, and AAC. The D1 features dual Wolfson WM8741 DAC chips—one per channel—for fully balanced analog output, and provides both XLR and RCA analog outputs as well as a BNC SPDIF digital output. It is controlled via the LUMIN app (iOS/Android) and integrates with streaming services like Tidal, Qobuz, and TuneIn Radio. The D1 requires a wired Ethernet connection and supports USB storage devices. Its compact chassis and high-quality components deliver a sound signature praised for its analog-like warmth and musicality. The D1 has been discontinued and replaced by newer models, but remains respected for its value and performance.
