About the Transporter
The Logitech Transporter, originally from Slim Devices, is an audiophile-grade wireless network music player and standalone DAC designed for high-resolution audio playback. It streams music from a PC via wired Ethernet or WiFi (802.11g), supports lossless formats like FLAC, WAV, AIFF, and compressed files, and features the AKM AK4396 multi-bit Sigma-Delta DAC for exceptional dynamic range and low distortion. It includes multiple digital inputs/outputs (TosLink, coaxial, BNC, AES/EBU XLR) and analog outputs (RCA unbalanced, XLR balanced), plus word-clock input for external synchronization. The unit employs three separate low-noise power supplies based on Walter Jung designs for analog positive, negative, and digital sections. Control is via TransNav front knob, dual displays, and remote. Discontinued around 2010, with servers shut down in 2024 requiring local Logitech Media Server for continued use. Roon compatible as endpoint.
