About the MK III
The Little Dot MK III is a Class-A SEPP (Single-ended Push Pull) OTL tube headphone amplifier and preamplifier known for its smooth, non-fatiguing sound and clear imaging. It uses four tubes: two RTC5654 driver tubes and two Soviet 6H6N power tubes, allowing for extensive tube rolling options including EF92, CV131, WE403A/B, 5654, M8100, CV4010, EF95, and 6JI equivalents. The amplifier supports a wide frequency response from 12 Hz to 100 kHz (-1dB) and delivers power outputs of 350 mW at 300/600 ohms, 300 mW at 120 ohms, and 100 mW at 32 ohms. It features variable gain settings (3, 4, 5, or 10x) to maximize compatibility with headphones of different impedances and sensitivities. The input impedance is 50K ohms, with a recommended load impedance range of 32 to 600 ohms. The preamplifier output impedance is 600 ohms with a gain of 3-10x and a voltage of 10V RMS. The unit is housed in a solid aluminum chassis measuring 270mm x 175mm x 123mm (10.6 x 6.9 x 4.8 inches) and weighs 3 kg (6.6 lbs). It consumes 30W of power and is available in 110-120V or 220-240V versions depending on the region. The MK III can also function as a preamplifier via RCA outputs. It comes with a 1-year warranty from Little Dot and is highly regarded for its build quality, sound clarity, and tube rolling flexibility.
