About the Space Optimisation

Linn Space Optimisation is Linn’s digital room- and loudspeaker-interaction correction technology, built into Linn DS and DSM network music players and Linn Exakt systems. It uses an acoustic model of the listening room, loudspeaker characteristics, loudspeaker positions, and listening position to identify and reduce room-induced resonances and other artificial frequency-response and decay-time irregularities. Users enter room dimensions, wall and surface construction, doors and windows, speaker positions, listener position, and the selected loudspeaker model through Linn’s configuration software or account-based tools. The resulting correction profile is stored in the Linn network player and applied during playback. The enhanced Space Optimisation+ version is intended for Exakt systems and can control individual drive-unit timing and filtering. It is software/firmware rather than a standalone hardware product, so conventional amplifier, speaker, cartridge, or DAC specifications do not apply.
