About the Series 5 System

The Linn Series 5 System is a complete, customizable active digital loudspeaker system built around Linn Exakt technology. It combines a Selekt DSM system hub with a pair of active Series 5 floorstanding loudspeakers. The system was originally offered with the Linn 530 three-way loudspeaker or the smaller 520 two-way loudspeaker; current Linn materials identify the Series 5 system primarily with the 530 configuration. Each loudspeaker contains its own DAC, Exakt digital crossover, volume-control processing, and dedicated onboard Chakra amplification, eliminating the need for a conventional external power amplifier. The 530 uses Linn’s Isobarik bass system, a doped two-layer sliced midrange driver, and a 19 mm silk-dome tweeter in a 30-litre cabinet. The hub provides network streaming, digital and analogue inputs, configurable MM/MC phono functionality, HDMI ARC, headphone output, Space Optimisation+, and Exakt Link connectivity. Based on current official Linn product pages, the Series 5 System is still presented as a current product family rather than being identified as discontinued; individual configurations, hub versions, finishes, and regional availability may vary.
