About the Adaptive Bias Control
Adaptive Bias Control is a technology developed by Linn for their high-end amplifiers, including the Klimax Solo 800, Klimax Solo 500, and 360 Exakt Integrated Loudspeakers. It dynamically and in real-time measures, samples, and digitizes the current supplied to output transistors. An FPGA calculates the ideal bias point and implements a digital control loop to maintain optimal bias for each transistor, compensating for temperature variations, volume levels, dynamic changes in music, and component aging over the amplifier's lifespan. This eliminates crossover distortion inherent in traditional Class AB designs, ensuring consistent performance at all times.
