About the Unidisk 1.1
The Linn Unidisk 1.1 is a compact, high-performance universal disc player introduced in spring 2003, featuring Linn's innovative Silver Disk Engine—a compact 8-layer all-digital circuit board that automatically recognizes disc formats (CD, SACD stereo/multichannel, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, VCD, SVCD, CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW/+RW, MP3, JPEG, WMA) and activates only necessary decoding circuitry to minimize noise. It delivers superb audio and video quality with progressive scan video, Dolby Digital/DTS certification (Lt/Rt downmix), and support for PCM up to 192kHz/24-bit, DSD for SACD. The player includes a silent high-tensile metal disc loader, switching power supply (90-240V AC, 50-60Hz), and extensive connectivity. Praised for its musicality, low jitter (179ps p-p), smooth SACD/DVD-A performance, and simplicity despite advanced features. Successor Unidisk 2.1 announced shortly after. No longer manufactured.
