About the Kandid

The Linn Kandid is Linn's best moving coil (MC) cartridge designed to extract maximum musical detail from vinyl records. It features a unique nude generator design with no cartridge housing, eliminating resonance for cleaner sound. The cartridge uses a plastic front yoke screw to reduce weight and magnetic interference, allowing quicker reaction to vinyl grooves. The mechanical body and cantilever tracking angle are optimized at 20° for symmetrical flux lines and minimal deformation. It employs a finest nude diamond line contact stylus mounted on a ceramic boron cantilever for ultra-low mass and high rigidity. The hand-wound coils are secured in a rigid assembly with gold contacts on flying leads for superb signal transmission, including an extra winding to increase output. The body is precision machined from 7075 aluminium alloy and uses a triple-point mounting system for accurate coupling, designed to partner perfectly with the Linn Ekos SE tonearm.
