About the Ittok LVII
The Linn Ittok LVII tonearm was designed to match the high standards of the Linn Sondek LP12 turntable and is recognized as a significant advance in disc playing equipment. It features a straight arm tube made of thin aluminum for rigidity and low mass, a fixed magnesium/aluminum alloy headshell, and a bearing system designed to maintain stability and minimize friction and play. The tonearm uses a counterweight and calibrated spring tracking-force control for dynamic balancing, providing excellent isolation from external forces. It supports cartridge weights from 3 to 9 grams and tracking forces from 0 to 3 grams, with an effective length of 229 mm and an overhang of 18 mm. The Ittok LVII is praised for its speed of response to transients, transparency, and ability to reveal atmosphere, depth, and detail in music. It is considered one of Linn's top tonearms from the 1980s and remains highly regarded for its musicality and build quality. The tonearm is especially effective when paired with the Linn LP12 but can be used on other turntables with a Linn mount.
