The LX521.4 is a four-way, actively driven open-baffle dipole loudspeaker system designed for flat on-axis and horizontal off-axis response. It uses two 10-inch woofers, an 8-inch lower-midrange driver, a 4-inch upper-midrange driver, and two 1-inch tweeters per speaker. The system employs separate amplification for the woofer, lower-midrange, upper-midrange, and tweeter sections, with active crossover and equalization implemented through the Linkwitz LX521.4 electronics or a suitable processor such as the miniDSP 4x10HD. It requires five amplifier channels per speaker—typically 10 channels for a stereo pair. The specified amplifier power is 250 watts for each woofer, 125 watts for the lower midrange, 125 watts for the upper midrange, and 100 watts for the tweeter section, for a total of 850 watts per speaker.
