The Linear Tube Audio ZOTL Ultralinear Integrated Amplifier is a highly detailed and refined amplifier that delivers 20 watts per channel using 17JN6 Compactron-style tubes. It utilizes David Berning's patented Zero-hysteresis Output Transformerless (ZOTL) technology, which allows the use of tubes that are difficult to employ in traditional transformer-coupled designs. This amplifier is designed specifically for high-efficiency speakers (88dB or above) and offers a balance between triode and pentode modes via an ultralinear topology, resulting in a less forward, more pleasing sound. It provides rich, vibrant timbres with excellent spatial clarity, low noise, and dynamic control rivaling more powerful solid-state designs. The integrated amplifier combines the ZOTL Ultralinear power amplifier, a Berning-designed preamplifier, and a digital control system in a beautifully crafted Fern & Roby aluminum case. It features 1 XLR input, 4 RCA inputs, an optional phono stage input for turntables, and a subwoofer output. The amplifier boasts a super-wide frequency response of 8Hz to 60kHz, under 2 ohm output impedance, and a sophisticated speaker protection system to prevent damage in case of tube failure. It also benefits from three times the tube life and one-third the heat compared to traditional tube amps. Each unit is hand-built in the USA by Linear Tube Audio with casework by Fern & Roby.
