About the Geek Pulse
The Light Harmonic Geek Pulse is a desktop digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and headphone amplifier designed for audiophiles seeking high resolution and powerful headphone amplification. It supports PCM sample rates up to 384 kHz at 32-bit depth and native DSD formats up to DSD128. The device features multiple digital inputs including USB 2.0 (UAC 2.0), AES/EBU, TOSLINK optical, and S/PDIF RCA inputs. Outputs include a 1/4" single-ended headphone jack, balanced 4-pin XLR headphone jack (on X versions), RCA line outputs, and balanced XLR line outputs (on X versions). The headphone amplifier delivers up to 3000 mW of power, capable of driving virtually any headphone. It offers selectable gain settings (low, medium, high) to match headphone sensitivity and impedance. The DAC uses dual high-precision Femto clocks and provides four user-selectable digital filter modes: Femto Time Frequency Response, Time Coherence, Stable Streaming, and Fast Time Mode. The unit is designed with a pure Class A amplifier stage for audio purity and includes an IR remote control. The Geek Pulse was successfully crowdfunded and is noted for its combination of high performance and competitive pricing compared to other DACs with similar capabilities. It supports native DSD playback without conversion to PCM, preserving audio fidelity. The device dimensions are approximately 8.25" depth, 7.375" width, and 3" height. It is compatible with Windows (driver required) and Mac (driverless) systems.
