It has a minimalist British design with no unnecessary features, focusing on high-quality components such as Vishay bulk-foil resistors and silver internal wiring in later versions. The chassis is robust and heavier than previous models, contributing to its build quality. The Zero LE MK III is praised for its spatial resolution, smooth midrange and treble, and absence of treble haze or roughness common in solid-state amplifiers. It has been described as close to a 'tube-like' sound without the typical tube amplifier top-end luxury. The amplifier runs cool and fits well in tight spaces. It lacks a remote control and has closely spaced rear panel connectors, which may limit cable options. The Zero LE MK III has been succeeded by the MK IV, which has a smaller chassis and no built-in phono stage, but the MK III remains a best-buy especially with the phono option included.
