About the Lejonklou Tundra Mono 2.2 Tarandus
The Lejonklou Tundra Mono 2.2 Tarandus is a monoblock power amplifier released in January 2017 as an improved version of the Tundra series. It features two switch-mode power supplies of 100 Watts each, which are more efficient and musically superior to conventional power supplies. The amplifier uses a copper cooling block weighing 1.2 kg that significantly reduces temperature variations, enhancing stability and musical foundation. Output transistors are clamped with a torque-optimized spring-loaded mechanism to maintain constant pressure despite temperature changes. A new Thermal Interface Material (TIM) reduces thermal resistance to one fourth of previous levels, improving bass solidity and overall sound clarity. The amplifier has a signal input impedance of 10 kΩ, maximum input level of 1.65 VAC and 40 mV DC, and a gain of 20.8 dB. It delivers 40 W into 8 Ω and 57 W into 4 Ω with less than 0.1% THD across 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range. The output impedance is 0.05 Ω with recommended load of 4–16 Ω. Dimensions are 35 × 6.9 × 35 cm and weight is 4.4 kg per chassis. The Tundra Mono 2.2 Tarandus offers improved musicality, refined sound, and is upgradable from previous Tundra 2.0 models. It is manufactured by Lejonklou HiFi AB in Sweden and sold internationally, including by Hidden Systems Ltd in the UK.
