About the Golden Gate DSD
The LampizatOr Golden Gate DSD DAC is a meticulously crafted high-fidelity digital-to-analog converter featuring a discrete resistor ladder (R2R) DAC design with native DSD conversion up to 512x (DSD512) and PCM support up to 32 bit/384 kHz via USB. It employs premium Directly Heated Tubes (DHT) such as 45, 245, 242, PX4, 101D, or 300B in the analog output stage, with rectifier tubes like 5U4G, 274B, or GZ34. The DAC offers multiple input options including USB, SPDIF (RCA), AES/EBU, BNC, and Toslink, with auto-switching between PCM and DSD formats. It features a high-precision Khozmo resistor ladder volume control with 63 steps and 0.1% accuracy, silver/gold soldered thick laminate PCBs, Mundorf Supreme Silver/Oil capacitors in the digital input path, and a pure copper chassis for optimal shielding and heat dissipation. The unit is available in single-ended or balanced outputs, with or without volume control, and comes with a 5-year warranty excluding tubes. Dimensions are approximately 43cm width, 13cm height (plus tubes 13cm), and 52cm depth. The DAC is renowned for its enormous 3D soundstage and musicality, designed primarily for DSD playback but also capable of high-resolution PCM. It supports tube rolling and includes custom boutique footers for vibration isolation. The Golden Gate DAC is considered a flagship model in LampizatOr's lineup, emphasizing musical performance and build quality.
