About the Atlantic
The original LampizatOr Atlantic is a tube-based R2R DAC using a discrete resistor ladder for PCM conversion and a separate USB DSD conversion engine with automatic PCM/DSD switching. It supports PCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz through S/PDIF and up to 24-bit/384 kHz through USB, plus USB DSD64, DSD128, and DSD256; DSD512 was available as an option. Its analog stage uses a pair of Soviet 4P1L directly heated pentodes operated in triode mode, with LampizatOr PureCopper output capacitors and an exposed-tube chassis. Optional digital inputs included BNC, a second S/PDIF input, AES/EBU, and Toslink. The standard model is single-ended; balanced circuitry and volume control were available as options. The original Atlantic was designed around the 4P1L tube and should not be confused with the later, more tube-roll-friendly Atlantic TRP and Atlantic2 models.
