The Lamm Industries M-2.2 Reference is the most powerful amplifier in Lamm's hybrid and solid-state line, designed after years of research to achieve the most accurate reproduction of recorded music. It is a hybrid design featuring a specially selected 6922 vacuum triode tube in the second stage and high-speed MOS-FET transistors in the output stage, which operates in a highly biased Class A/AB mode without overall feedback. The amplifier delivers 220 Watts into 8 and 4 Ohms, 440 Watts into 2 Ohms, and 600 Watts into 1 Ohm continuously, capable of driving any known speaker while maintaining harmonic integrity and extreme clarity at all power levels. It includes a special switch-selectable biasing circuit for optimal idle current across 1-16 Ohm loads and features high-quality components such as military-grade resistors, film capacitors, gold-plated connectors, and a vibration-isolated toroidal power transformer for exceptional sound clarity and micro-resolution. The rear panel offers XLR and RCA inputs, two pairs of five-way binding posts, and a toggle switch to select speaker impedance ranges (1-6 Ohms or 8-16 Ohms).
