About the LP2 Deluxe
The Lamm Industries LP2 Deluxe is a premium tube phono preamplifier designed for audiophiles seeking exceptional vinyl playback. It features separate inputs for moving-magnet (MM) and moving-coil (MC) cartridges, with fixed input impedances of 47k ohms for MM and 40 ohms for MC, and gains of approximately 38dB (MM) and 58dB (MC). The MC input uses a Jensen step-up transformer for additional gain. The LP2 Deluxe employs a highly accurate passive RIAA equalization network with less than 0.5dB error across the audio spectrum. Internally, it uses high-quality Western Electric 417A/5842 miniature triode tubes and a 6X6/6202 tube for power supply rectification. The Deluxe version upgrades the power supply energy storage to 150 joules and bypasses all film capacitors in the signal path with premium polystyrene capacitors. A massive custom damping panel is attached to the bottom of the chassis to reduce mechanical vibrations, contributing to a weight of about 41.5 pounds. The unit is built with military-spec circuit boards and gold-plated RCA connectors, and it includes an auto-muting function on power transitions. Dimensions are approximately 4.5" H x 19" W x 15.25" D including handles. The LP2 Deluxe is noted for its superb dynamic range, low noise floor, and natural, coherent bass reproduction without typical tube coloration. It has no adjustable loading or volume controls, emphasizing purity and simplicity in design. The power supply is internally switchable for multiple AC voltages (100-240V). Recommended warm-up time is at least 45 minutes, and the unit consumes about 70 watts of power. Originally
