About the L2
The L2 Reference preamplifier by Lamm Industries is a dual-mono, hybrid design combining solid-state audio circuitry with a separate tube-regulated power supply. It features a unique topology utilizing super-linear high voltage MOS-FET transistors operating in pure Class A without overall feedback, and all stages including high-current output buffers are single-ended. The power supply uses vacuum tube rectification and voltage regulation with tubes including one 12AX7/ECC83, one 6C19P, one 5651A, and two 12AX3 rectifiers. The L2 offers extraordinary transparency, a nearly inaudible sonic signature, and a three-dimensional soundstage reproduction. It includes 3 single-ended RCA inputs, 1 tape loop, balanced and single-ended outputs, an output signal phase switch, and built-in remote on/off for Lamm power amplifiers. The preamplifier is housed in a 19" W x 4.5" H x 13.875" D chassis, weighing 15.42 lbs, with a separate power supply weighing 19 lbs. It consumes about 75-80W of power and is designed to work on all global AC voltages without modification. The L2 is handcrafted with high-quality components such as military-grade low-noise resistors, stepped potentiometers, film capacitors, and gold-plated connectors. It is
