About the L1

The Lamm Industries L1 preamplifier represents the pinnacle of LAMM's hybrid and solid-state audio equipment, developed through years of intensive research to achieve the most accurate reproduction of recorded music. It features a unique topology utilizing superlinear high voltage MOS-FET transistors operating in pure class A from input to output without overall feedback, ensuring an almost inaudible sonic signature. The L1 includes 5 inputs, 2 tape loops with tape-dubbing capability, output signal phase switch, balanced and single-ended outputs, and built-in remote on/off for LAMM power amplifiers. Its power supply uses a high voltage (+350V) high-speed vacuum tube voltage regulator, enabling reproduction of the tiniest musical nuances and three-dimensional subtleties. The output impedance is optimized for frequency independence and to drive capacitive loads without sonic degradation. Each unit is hand-crafted with premium components such as military-grade DALE metal film resistors, ALPS potentiometers, PRC wire wound resistors, ELECTROCUBE and ROEDERSTEIN film capacitors, high-frequency switching grade CORNELL DUBILIER electrolytic capacitors, long-life vacuum tubes, gold-plated RCA and NEUTRIC XLR connectors, and a custom-designed power transformer with intensive RFI filtering. The L1 assures extraordinary transparency and a limitless three-dimensional soundstage when paired with suitable power amplifiers, especially LAMM models.
