About the Air Line

The Kuzma Air Line is a linear tangential tonearm incorporating an air bearing technology that provides practically zero friction in movement, ensuring the cartridge is maintained in the exact position of the cutting head. It features a rigid, minimally resonating aluminium structure that is easy to adjust, with precise and repeatable VTA (vertical tracking angle) and azimuth adjustments. The air bearing used is of the same type as those in precision measuring and tool-making machines, with a gap of only 5 microns, allowing for a rigid frictionless bearing that can withstand over 10 kg load. This design eliminates unwanted vibrations and movements, allowing the cartridge to collect only musical information from the grooves. Pressurized air is supplied by quiet compressors with air-drying units, typically positioned outside the listening room and connected by a thin plastic tube. Introduced in 2003, the Air Line tonearm is highly regarded for its sonic stability, natural stereo perspective, and exceptional control over musical expression.
