About the Showcase

The Krell Showcase is a premium surround preamp/processor that served as Krell's flagship model in the early 2000s. It decodes Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Digital EX, DTS-ES, DTS Neo:6, Dolby Pro Logic II, and includes 9 proprietary Krell Music Surround modes. The processor features THX Ultra certification and THX postprocessing capabilities. Advanced features include a 7-channel parametric digital room equalizer with four adjustable parameters (filter type, frequency, shape, and level), four memory modes for different source materials, and a selectable throughput mode that bypasses all DSP for analog inputs. The Showcase employs state-of-the-art digital chipsets operating with upsampled 24-bit precision and incorporates Burr Brown 24-bit/192 kHz DACs on all channels. The preamp section uses Krell Current Mode circuitry with fully balanced topology for low noise and detail retrieval. The processor is no longer manufactured.
