The Krell Illusion Preamplifier represents the pinnacle of Krell's engineering, featuring a dual monaural design with separate power supplies for each channel to minimize noise and maximize sound purity. It uses Krell CAST technology for a high-bandwidth, low-noise signal path and offers an optional adjustable crossover for subwoofer integration. The Illusion II version adds a digital module supporting up to 24-bit/192kHz LPCM with AES/EBU, coaxial, and optical inputs, and features a zero feedback, balanced design with 700 kHz bandwidth. Both models emphasize zero feedback, balanced circuitry, and a proprietary volume control system for precise level adjustment and minimal distortion.
