The Korg MR-2000S is a top-tier 1-bit studio recorder designed for professional audio recording and archiving. It supports 2-track simultaneous recording and playback with formats including 1-bit DSD at 2.8 MHz and 5.6 MHz, PCM WAV files up to 24-bit/192kHz, and MP3 playback. The unit features an internal 80GB hard drive (or 128GB SSD in newer versions) capable of storing approximately 14 hours of stereo audio at 5.6 MHz 1-bit DSD or up to 120 hours at CD quality (16-bit/44.1kHz). It includes balanced XLR and RCA analog inputs and outputs, S/PDIF digital I/O for PCM recording, word clock I/O for synchronization, and USB 2.0 for high-speed file transfer. The MR-2000S uses Cirrus Logic D/A and Texas Instruments A/D converters to minimize signal degradation. Its front panel has a backlit LCD and 24-stage LED meters for level monitoring, with controls for marker insertion and project management. The device is rackmountable (1U) with a compact design suitable for studios and live recording rigs. Included AudioGate software enables conversion of 1-bit recordings to various PCM formats and editing functions.
