The Kondo Audio Note Japan KSL SF-z is a premium MC step-up transformer crafted with over 30 years of expertise in silver wire application and transformer winding. It features a pure silver KSL winding transformer with a custom-made ultra-thin permalloy core that minimizes eddy current and hysteresis losses, ensuring low distortion and a flat frequency response up to 100 kHz. The transformer uses a multi-layer balanced winding structure and is housed in a double shielded permalloy and pure copper case with double float mechanical damping to reduce vibration. The output cable is a 1 meter RCA terminated pure silver Ls-41 cable, soldered directly to the coil to eliminate intermediate contacts. The chassis is made of pure copper to guarantee open and stable sound. It supports balanced and unbalanced modes by switching the grounding point on the primary side, allowing optimal performance with shielded phono cables. The transformer is hand-wound and assembled by skilled artisans, reflecting meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. It is designed to maximize the performance of MC cartridges and deliver natural, vivid, and refined sound reproduction.
