The Koetsu Rosewood Signature Platinum is a low-output moving-coil phono cartridge that combines a lacquered aged rosewood body with rare platinum magnets and silver-plated 6N copper coils, a motor system normally reserved for Koetsu's stone-body designs. This construction yields a stiffer, lacquered rosewood structure and a relatively low-mass body, making it well suited for listeners who want the sonic qualities of Koetsu's platinum stone models but prefer the aesthetic and weight of rosewood. It is widely regarded for a natural, sophisticated, and highly musical presentation, with strong focus, spacious soundstaging, and rich harmonic density that remains balanced and resolving rather than overly lush. Key technical features include a boron cantilever, 0.3 mV output, internal impedance of 5 ohms, and a net weight of about 12.4 g, with a recommended tracking force of 1.8–2.0 g and a recommended load in the roughly 75–500 ohm range.
