The Klyne 7PX-3.5 is a highly regarded phono preamplifier designed for both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges. It features adjustable gain settings (commonly 37, 50, or 63 dB) and input impedance adjustable up to 47K ohms, allowing extensive customization to match various cartridges. The 7PX-3.5/B variant includes balanced XLR outputs with 600 Ohms output impedance. The unit is known for its superb build quality, musical character, and detailed sound reproduction, often described as revealing minute musical details without sacrificing musical flow. It uses carefully selected components chosen solely for sonic excellence without cost constraints. The design includes a clean power supply and an acrylic or metal top cover option.
