About the Six

Designed by Henry Kloss over 30 years ago, the Model Six is a two-way acoustic suspension loudspeaker that combines a 1 3/4" cone tweeter with a 5/8" dome center and a newly designed 8" acoustic suspension woofer. It features a low crossover frequency of 2,000 Hz, allowing smooth, uncolored upper midrange with wide dispersion. The woofer cone is larger than typical for its size and price, with a larger magnet and voice coil, resulting in more accurate and extended bass. The cabinet is constructed from 12-ply 3/4" plywood with a real walnut veneer finish, offering both aesthetic appeal and durability. The speaker is versatile, working well with both tube and solid-state equipment, and excels at acoustic and vocal recordings. It has an 8-ohm impedance and a power handling capacity of about 40 watts. The Model Six is considered one of Henry Kloss's most important and finest designs, originally introduced in 1958 and highly regarded for its performance relative to its cost.
