About the KBA-75 (original version, a.k.a. gold)

The original Kinergetics Research KBA-75 is a stereo pure-Class-A power amplifier rated at 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It uses a large toroidal power transformer and 11 output transistors per channel, with fan-assisted heatsink cooling. The amplifier was later informally distinguished as the “Gold” or original version after the KBA-75 Platinum appeared. Published specifications include a 1 Hz–300 kHz frequency response, 0.02% total harmonic distortion, and a 2-ohm minimum speaker-load impedance. Claims about sound quality and reliability are subjective and are not treated as specifications.
