About the Passive Attenuator
The Khozmo Passive Attenuator is a precision volume control device designed for audiophiles seeking neutral, detailed, and accurate sound reproduction without coloration or distortion. It is available in various configurations including 48-step series mechanical, 64-step ladder, and 64-step shunt relay-based types, each offering smooth and precise volume adjustment with minimal impact on the audio signal. The attenuators use high-quality components such as Vishay, AMRT, AMRG, ZFoil, and Takman resistors, and feature hard gold contacts and CNC machined aluminum bodies for durability and low noise. The relay-based models include remote control and optical encoders for long life and reliable operation. Khozmo attenuators are known for their low distortion, excellent channel matching (+/-0.1 dB), and ability to preserve tonal balance, dynamics, and spatial characteristics, resulting in a highly resolving and immersive listening experience. They are suitable for use in passive preamplifiers and can be customized with RCA or XLR outputs.
